Terri Cromley, the managing partner of the Bradenton office of Carlson, Meissner, Hart & Hayslett, hosted a fundraiser at her home on Friday to benefit the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association.

We have many clients, family and friends affected by these diseases.  If you would like to support either of these causes by walking in an event or by donating, please look for the team of Carlson, Meissner, Hart and Hayslett for the April 8, 2018 walk in St Pete or the “For all wonderful lives (FAWL)” team for the relay for life event April 6-7 in Palmetto.  Terri is walking for her clients (not named for privacy reasons, but you know who you are) and for Larry, Jacob and Sam for diabetes and Mema, Uncle Bill, Jack, Kate and Paige for cancer.  Both of these organizations help people during their fight in various ways.

If you or anyone you know is fighting either of these diseases, please, contact them for information on how they can help you.

More than 10.4 million people in the United States received disability benefits in 2017, according to the Social Security Administration (SSA). While the number of applications for social security disability (SSDI) benefits dropped 6.1% from 2016, the percentage of individuals awarded benefits climbed slightly.

The Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program is a federal insurance program that is funded from payroll taxes and managed by the Social Security Administration. SSDI is designed to provide income supplements to disabled individuals who have made sufficient contributions through FICA taxes.

To qualify for disability benefits, applicants must have a medical condition that meets the Social Security Administration’s definition of disability. The Social Security Administration uses an evaluation process to determine eligibility, which includes considering the nature of the disability, age, work experience, education, and other factors. Many disabled workers wonder if they are eligible to receive benefits, but they become increasingly frustrated by the cumbersome application process.

If you have any questions about the federal Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program and your eligibility to receive benefits, contact us at 800-LAW-5655 or visit our website at CarlsonMeissner.com.

The Law Office of Carlson, Meissner, Hart & Hayslett is proud to sponsor The Pepin Academies Foundation fundraiser. Attorney Matthew Kindel from our New Port Richey office, and his beautiful wife Nina, were in attendance at the Cirque Du Pepin Academies: Journey of Learning' Gala & Silent Auction!

This fun and whimsical evening, hosted by Tom and Lauren Pepin, Gala Chairs Guy and Debbie King, and the students, faculty, and the community, celebrates the journey of the students from their first day at Pepin Academies to graduation and beyond.

The Pepin Academies Foundation provides funding and support for Pepin Academies; tuition-free charter schools for students with learning-disabilities. The Gala brings together corporate and community friends of Pepin Academies to raise awareness and financial support to provide these students with an opportunity to attend school in a safe, nurturing and academically rigorous environment.
