What is the Best Auto Insurance for you?
When picking automobile insurance for you and your family, first consider just that, you and your family. Remember that auto insurance is actually a bundle of different types of insurance and each different type applies to a different situation. For example, if you want to protect your family, you want to have a lot of uninsured or under insured insurance. That means if you’re involved in an accident and if you and your loved one is injured, that insurance will cover you.
You also want to have adequate med pay or medical payment insurance, so if you have medical bills, that will cover before your health insurance kicks in.
Also, you want to do some asset protection. If you hit another vehicle and if that person or persons is injured, you are liable and if you have BI or bodily injury insurance, that will cover you for their injuries. Get as much BI, UM, and med pay as you can afford.
The other types of insurance are liability and comprehensive. These deal with personal property or the cars themselves. I, first, trust folks to take care of themselves and their loved ones and secondarily focus on the vehicles and personal property.
So, if your allocating money for your car insurance, think, first, of UM, med pay, then BI, then the value of the cars as properties. Remember, you can’t get another body. You can always get another car.
